In a heartfelt tribute marking the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, consulate officials gathered on April 14 to honour the legacy of the “Father of the Indian Constitution.”
The commemorative event, held at the Indian Consulate, brought together community leaders, diplomats, and students to pay homage to Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring contribution to justice, equality, and social reform. The ceremony included floral tributes, readings from the Constitution of India, and reflections on Ambedkar’s legacy as a jurist, economist, and social reformer.
Dr. Ambedkar, born on April 14, 1891, was instrumental in drafting the Constitution of India and remains a symbol of the fight against caste-based discrimination and inequality. His ideals continue to resonate globally, especially among diaspora communities.
Community members expressed their pride and gratitude during the tribute. “His message of dignity, education, and empowerment is as relevant today as ever,” said one attendee.
