WHATEVER you do, do not download this infringement notice.
The ‘notice’ is a scam and was emailed to a Sunshine Coast resident, who posted it to the Sunny Coast Community Board as a warning to others.
There have been a variety of similar scams recently, usually with more effort put into making the fake infringement notice looking legitimate, such as these examples claiming to be from the Western Australia police and the Australian Federal Police.
In the case of Queensland Police, it is possible to get an ‘e-ticket’, delivered via email instead of regular post.
However, you Queensland Police says you will only receive an e-ticket if you have first been physically stopped by police and have opted to receive your infringement notice as an e-ticket.
If in doubt, phone the agency claiming to have issued your ticket, being sure to get the number from the phone book or the agency’s website rather than the suspect notice.
