The festival celebrates the end of Ramadan in which Muslims fast for a month, from dawn until sunset.
The event is being held by the Islamic Council of Queensland and spokesman Ali Kadri said families of all backgrounds were welcome.
“The idea is to share the festivities with the wider community in Queensland,” he said.
“We don’t see this just as a celebration for the Muslim population but a celebration for all Queenslanders.
“We have a VIP interfaith event in the afternoon and it is being attended by all religious groups and this year we are holding a forum that will be discussing the future of our community, the world issues and how we create a cohesive society.”
