The event also marked the historic launch of the NSW Parliamentary Friends of India\, symbolizing the growing ties between the state and India.\nWelcoming an esteemed gathering of parliamentarians\, business leaders\, AIBC members\, and the Indian diaspora\, AIBC National Associate Chair and NSW President\, Irfan Malik\, expressed his pride in the occasion. “This is the first time Holi is being celebrated at the NSW Parliament\, and the launch of the NSW Parliamentary Friends of India is a testament to the strong connections between NSW and India\,” he said.\nRepresenting the Premier of New South Wales\, Prue Car MP\, Deputy Premier\, emphasized the significance of the initiative. “This launch is very special for the NSW Government\, not only because of the increasing number of migrants from India but also due to their remarkable contributions to the state\,” she noted. “The fact that it coincides with the Holi Festival of Harmony makes it even more meaningful.”\nThe event received bipartisan support\, with notable attendees including Mark Speakman MP\, Leader of the Opposition; Steven Kamper MP\, Minister for Multiculturalism; Dr. S. Kirby formally launched the NSW Parliamentary Friends of India\, emphasizing the strengthening ties between the two regions. “In recent years\, social\, economic\, and defense relations between Australia and India have flourished.
