I look forward to the day we can walk into our GCHCA cultural home, which is clad with Indian architectural walls, with Murugan smiling in his inner sanctum, mantras ringing through the walls, our Indian Bharatanatyam dancers dancing away at the left wing, singers and musicians playing mirdungam, veena, violin and harmonium, Indian language classes in the right wing and the content faces of our members and community of the legacy we leave.
The Gold Coast Hindu Cultural Association (GCHCA) held its 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 20th August 2017 and a subsequent committee meeting on 27th August for vacant positions and Navarathri plans. I thank members who attended the AGM and who sent their proxies to represent the meeting. The audited accounts of the association will be publicly available on the GCHCA website. I would like to acknowledge and thank the 2016/17 committee members, the building sub-committee and the fund raising sub-committee for their services to the Association. I take this opportunity to introduce you to our 2017/18 Management Committee.

The building sub-committee continues and is coordinated by A/Prof. Vallipuram Muthukkumarasamy, the Navarathri organisation is coordinated by Dr. G. Subakumar while we are establishing a fund raising sub-committee in Gold Coast and one in Melbourne.
