India raised its concern to Pakistan about Kulbhushan Jadhav, since it said that it didn’t know anything about either his location or his condition. “It is a matter of concern for India,” the external affairs ministry said today. They informed that it had sought consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav for the 15th time. India officially sought details of the trial proceedings against Kulbhushan Jadhav as well as the appeal process in the case, from Pakistan.”India awaits formal response from Pakistan to its two demands – consular access and details of the trial proceedings against Jadhav,” ministry of external affairs spokesperson Gopal Baglay said.
Same food for dons and petty criminals in jails: Yogi
Chief minister of UP, Yogi Adityanath told state officials that all convicts in the jails of Uttar Pradesh, petty criminals or notorious mafia dons, should get the same food and treatment. The remarks came at a review meeting of the state’s Home, Vigilance and Jails department. In the past, there have been reports and allegations about certain prisoners enjoying privileges in jails including the use of mobile phones.
India records impressive growth in recent years: IMF
As per a top IMF official, India’s growth has been “impressive” in the recent years, which makes room for tax broadening efforts by the government. “India has recorded quite an impressive growth performance in recent years. Our view is that the elimination of fuel subsidies and the targeting of social benefits has delivered in terms of allowing the union budget target to be achieved at 3.5 per cent of GDP,” Vitor Gasper, director of the IMF Fiscal Affairs Department told reporters.
Infosys then said the agreement with Bansal had provided for non-compete obligations, as also other rights and obligations. “Certain payments to Rajiv under the agreement have been suspended pending certain clarifications with regard to such rights and obligations,” it had said in a statement.
Rajiv seems to have chosen arbitration over court proceedings, because of his belief that it will provide for speedier (and time bound) determination of the issue and the proceedings will also be confidential.
