Brisbane, October 10 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

Brisbane is set to sparkle with joy and colour as the Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) brings the Festival of Lights – Diwali 2025 to King George Square on October 24, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. This much-awaited cultural celebration will once again unite the community in a day-long extravaganza of light, music, dance, and togetherness — all free and open to the public.

Visitors will be treated to a lively showcase of traditional and contemporary cultural performances, Bollywood dances, devotional music, and interactive activities for all ages. The aroma of Indian sweets and street food will fill the air as food stalls line the venue, creating a festive atmosphere reminiscent of India’s bustling Diwali bazaars. The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display, symbolising the festival’s central message — the victory of light over darkness and goodness over evil.

Adding to the excitement, FICQ announced Springfield City Group as the Platinum Sponsor for this year’s celebration. A long-standing partner and supporter of community initiatives, Springfield City Group continues to play a key role in building inclusive and forward-looking communities across Queensland. Its values of innovation and social harmony mirror the very spirit of Diwali.

FICQ also welcomed LEAPMOTOR as the Signature Sponsor for Diwali 2025. Festivalgoers can look forward to an exclusive moment during the event — the official unveiling of LeapMotor’s latest model, to be launched by the Guest of Honour on the day.

Organisers expressed enthusiasm about hosting the event at King George Square, one of Brisbane’s most iconic landmarks. Its central location will make the festival accessible to everyone, encouraging greater participation from families, students, and visitors of all backgrounds.

The Festival of Lights – Diwali 2025 promises to be a celebration of unity, culture, and hope — a reflection of the vibrant multiculturalism that defines Queensland. With its blend of tradition, entertainment, and community spirit, the event is set to light up Brisbane’s heart and remind everyone that Diwali is more than a festival — it is a shared celebration of joy, resilience, and humanity.
