NE: Amrit Bharat Express operations commence under NFR

Guwahati, Jan 22 (IANS) The Amrit Bharat Express trains, flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, have commenced regular operations under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), marking a major boost to long-distance rail connectivity in the region while offering passengers affordable and modern travel facilities.

NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said that the Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar–Dibrugarh Amrit Bharat Express will operate weekly.

The train will commence its journey from Dibrugarh on January 30, departing on every Friday, while the train will start its return journey from Gomti Nagar on February 1, departing on every Sunday.

All the Amrit Bharat Express trains will operate with 22-coach modern Amrit Bharat rakes, designed to provide improved passenger amenities while maintaining an affordable fare structure.

The regular operation of these Amrit Bharat Express trains under Northeast Frontier Railway reflects commitment towards inclusive development, improved connectivity and modernisation of the railway network, Sharma said.

The CPRO said that the train will have stoppages at Moranhat, Simaluguri, Mariani, Furkating, Dimapur, Diphu, Lumding, Guwahati, Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Alipurduar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Barauni, Gorakhpur, AyodhyaDham Junction, Barabanki, etc.

The SMVT Bengaluru–Alipurduar–SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express will also operate every week. The train will commence its journey from SMVT Bengaluru on January 24, departing every Saturday, while the train will start its return journey from Alipurduar on January 26, departing on every Monday.

The train will have stoppages at Katpadi, Renigunta, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kharagpur, Barddhaman, Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri, etc.

Similarly, Nagercoil-New Jalpaiguri-Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express will operate every week. The train will commence its journey from Nagercoil on January 25, departing on every Sunday, while the train will start its return journey from New Jalpaiguri on January 28, departing on every Wednesday.

The train will have stops at Madurai, Pollachi, Erode, Katpadi, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kharagpur, Malda Town, Kishanganj, etc. The Tiruchchirappalli–New Jalpaiguri-Tiruchchirappalli Amrit Bharat Express will commence its journey weekly.

The train will commence its Journey from Tiruchchirappalli on January 28, departing on every Wednesday, while the train will start its return journey from New Jalpaiguri on January 30, departing on every Friday.

The train will have stoppages at Tambaram, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Cuttack, Kharagpur, Malda Town, Barsoi, Kishanganj, etc. The Kamakhya-Rohtak-Kamakhya Amrit Bharat Express will commence its journey every week.

The train will commence its Journey from Kamakhya on January 30, departing on every Friday, while the train will start its return journey from Rohtak on February 1, departing on every Sunday.

The train will have stops at Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Katihar, Khagaria, Barauni, Sonpur, Aunrihar, Prayagraj, Delhi, etc.
