Jaipur, April 1 (IANS) The newly constituted Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad-hoc committee has initiated steps to strengthen grassroots cricket and expand infrastructure across districts, with a focus on nurturing young talent ahead of the 2026–27 domestic season.

Convener Mohit Jaswant Yadav said the committee — comprising Dhananjay Singh Khimsar, Ashish Tiwari, Arjun Beniwal, and Arisht Singhvi — is working on a structured plan to enhance facilities and create wider opportunities for players across the state.

Arisht Singhvi has been assigned to draft the framework for RCA’s sporting activities and coordinate support initiatives.

As part of its early decisions, the committee will organise summer training camps across all district centres from April 15 to April 30, 2026. These camps will cater to Under-14, Under-16, and Under-19 (men’s) categories, as well as Under-15 and Under-19 (women’s) categories.

To strengthen implementation at the district level, the committee has increased financial assistance for organising these camps from Rs 40,000 to Rs 1 lakh per district. The move is aimed at improving facilities and ensuring effective execution of training programmes at the grassroots level.

In a related development, Rajasthan Royals Vice President Rajiv Khanna met members of the RCA ad-hoc committee at the RCA Academy in Jaipur.

Discussions focused on preparations and coordination for upcoming IPL matches in the city.

Yadav said the committee has assured full cooperation to the BCCI and Rajasthan Royals. “We are committed to extending complete support at every level to ensure the smooth conduct of IPL matches in Jaipur,” he said, adding that the RCA will formally communicate its support to the BCCI.

Khanna described the meeting as “meaningful and excellent”, expressing confidence in seamless coordination for hosting IPL matches in the state.

On March 30, Mohit Yadav had signalled sweeping reforms, stating that long-pending RCA elections will be held at the earliest.

Yadav said the responsibility entrusted by the state government would be carried out with seriousness and commitment.

“Our focus is to improve both the functioning and direction of the RCA. Positive results will soon be visible,” he said.

Addressing the dispute with former convener Deendayal Kumawat, Yadav acknowledged differences but maintained that cricketing activities should not suffer.

“Our working styles differed, but the objective remained the same. Some targets could not be achieved earlier, but we will now accomplish them with the new team,” he added.

The newly constituted Ad-hoc Committee includes Mohit Yadav, Dhananjay Singh Khimsar, Ashish Tiwari, Arisht Singhvi, and Arjun Beniwal, all of whom have taken charge.
