An 18-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman are believed to be on the run after a man was shot dead in a Gold Coast shed this morning.
Police have released images of the pair, who they believe were both known to the 41-year-old victim and may be travelling together in a white Holden sedan.
Paramedics could not revive the 41-year-old after they were called to the property in Riverbend Avenue, Carrara, about 8.45am AEST.
Investigators are treating the death as a homicide and believe the deceased man had been living in the shed, Detective Inspector Marc Hogan said.
Det. Insp. Hogan confirmed the investigation will probe possible links to a criminal motorcycle gang, but declined to comment on whether drugs were involved.
He urged anyone who sees the 18-year-old man or 31-year-old woman to phone Crime Stoppers.
The 18-year-old is Pacific Islander and about 175cm tall with a proportionate build, black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on the right side of his face.
The woman is described as Caucasian and about 172cm tall with a proportionate build, blue eyes and a neck tattoo.
Homicide detectives and State Crime Command officers are involved in the investigation and are interviewing multiple witnesses.
