Patna, May 5 (IANS) A 30-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room near Bairiya Bus Stand under the jurisdiction of Ramkrishna Nagar police station in Patna on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Santosh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Shakurabad locality in Jehanabad. The incident has triggered panic and speculation in the surrounding area.

Preliminary findings suggest that he was a frequent visitor to the hotel and would often check in with different female companions.

On this occasion, he was accompanied by a woman reportedly from Kolkata.

The woman told police that everything seemed normal until late at night.

However, early in the morning, Santosh’s condition suddenly worsened, and he lost consciousness.

Despite attempts to revive him, he could not be saved.

She alerted the hotel management around 4:00 a.m., who then informed the police.

Upon arrival, the police conducted a detailed inspection of the room.

During the search, they recovered medicines believed to be related to sexual enhancement.

Notably, there were no visible signs of injury or struggle on the body, adding to the mystery surrounding the death.

The woman has been taken into custody for questioning, and investigators are examining hotel records along with CCTV footage to piece together the sequence of events.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.

DSP (Sadar-2) Ranjan Kumar stated that all possible angles are being thoroughly investigated, including whether the death was due to natural causes or involved other factors.

“We are investigating the case from all angles. The woman who was present in the hotel room was taken into custody. The phone and other belongings of the deceased and the woman were sent to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for detailed examination,” he said.

An FIR has been registered in the Ramkrishna Nagar police station, and the deceased’s family has been informed about the incident,” the officer added.
