Jaipur, May 6 (IANS) Rajasthan continues to position itself as an attractive investment destination, driven by policy reforms, green energy initiatives and tourism development, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas said on Wednesday.

He was addressing a meeting at the Secretariat with India’s Ambassador to Japan, Nagma Mohamed Mallick.

Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing the ease of doing business in Rajasthan, strengthening the availability of skilled human resources and expanding opportunities for students from the state to pursue higher education and training in Japan.

Highlighting the state’s industrial ecosystem, Srinivas said procedures for setting up new industries in Rajasthan have been simplified, made transparent and streamlined, creating a conducive environment for investors.

He said sustained efforts towards good governance have accelerated growth in sectors such as renewable energy and tourism, opening up fresh avenues for domestic and foreign investment.

The Chief Secretary also underscored the strengthening of Rajasthan-Japan relations, attributing it to the success of the “Neemrana Model of Excellence” and collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

He emphasised that Rajasthan shares a long-standing and positive relationship with Japan and pointed to significant potential for expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

Srinivas highlighted Japan’s involvement in key development projects in the state, including bio-forest initiatives, Phase-II of the Jaipur Metro and the Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project.

He also stressed the need for further deregulation and reduction in compliance requirements to make investment processes more efficient.

Ambassador Mallick said the demand for skilled Indian professionals is increasing in Japan, particularly in high-demand sectors such as information technology.

She highlighted the need to strengthen education and skill development initiatives to enable more Indian youth to take advantage of these global opportunities.

Senior officials present at the meeting included Shreya Guha, Director General of HCM-RIPA and ex-officio Additional Chief Secretary (Training); Dinesh Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Administrative Reforms and Social Justice); Archana Singh, Secretary (Personnel); and Rakesh Sharma, Commissioner and Joint Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department.
