Kolkata, May 10 (IANS) After becoming the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari is scheduled to visit Nabanna for the first time on Monday. He is expected to hold an administrative meeting at the Nabanna (state secretariat) meeting hall at 12 noon.

In view of his visit, Howrah and Kolkata Police are working to strengthen the security of Nabanna around that meeting.

Not only the meeting hall, but also the security of the Nabanna perimeter is being reviewed, said government officials on Sunday.

Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nand and Howrah City Police Commissioner Akhilesh Chaturvedi reached Nabanna in the early hours of Sunday.

Several high-ranking police officers were also with them. First, the police, led by two CPs, inspected the Nabanna premises.

Detailed information was collected about what security arrangements were in place.

The police inspected the security of Chief Minister Suvendu in Nabanna and the security of the meeting hall where he will hold the meeting. After that, Ajay and Akhilesh also held an emergency meeting regarding security at the Nabanna meeting hall.

On Monday, Suvendu Adhikari will first hold a meeting with the top officials of the state administration. However, not only the administrative review, he is scheduled to hold two more meetings on Monday. The Chief Minister is likely to hold a meeting with the District Magistrates in the afternoon.

After that, CM Adhikari will also have a meeting with the top officials of the state police in the afternoon.

According to officials, the meeting will be attended by the Director General of the state police, the Commissioner of Police of Kolkata and other high-ranking officials of various zones of the state.

After taking oath as the Chief Minister on Saturday, Suvendu Adhikari held a meeting with the state’s Chief Secretary Dushyant Nariala, Home Secretary Sanghamitra Ghosh and DGP Siddh Nath Gupta. The meeting was held at the Public Works Department tent in Esplanade.

In that meeting, Suvendu Adhikari reviewed the overall situation in the state.

Five more ministers — Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Nisith Pramanik and Khudiram Tudu — took oath along with Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday.

According to BJP sources, the remaining members of Suvendu Adhikari’s Cabinet are likely to be sworn in on Monday.

It will be clear on that day who will handle which portfolio. It is learnt that Governor RN Ravi will administer the oath to the new cabinet members at Lok Bhavan on Monday.
