Mumbai, May 12 (IANS) Tata Power on Tuesday reported a 4.5 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decline in its consolidated net profit for the January-March quarter (Q4) of FY26, even as the company posted record annual earnings and announced a final dividend for shareholders.

The Tata Group company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 996 crore for Q4 FY26, compared to Rs 1,043 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, according to a regulatory filing.

Revenue from operations during the quarter declined 12.8 per cent year-on-year to Rs 14,900 crore from Rs 17,096 crore reported in Q4 FY25.

The company’s board of directors recommended a final dividend of Rs 2.50 per equity share with a face value of Re 1 each, translating to 250 per cent for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

The proposed dividend is subject to shareholders’ approval at the company’s 107th Annual General Meeting scheduled for July 7, 2026.

The company has fixed June 23, 2026, as the record date for determining shareholder eligibility for the dividend payout, as per its exchange filing.

Despite the quarterly decline in profit, Tata Power reported its highest-ever annual profit after tax for FY26 at Rs 5,118 crore, marking a 7 per cent increase over the previous year.

Annual EBITDA rose 11 per cent to Rs 16,090 crore, while total revenue for the financial year stood at Rs 63,681 crore.

The company said its core businesses recorded a 13 per cent year-on-year growth in profit after tax during the fourth quarter, driven by strong operational performance in generation, transmission and distribution, along with renewable energy operations.

Management highlighted that rising electricity demand in India and the country’s ongoing energy transition are creating long-term growth opportunities for the company across multiple segments.

Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power, said the company remains focused on expanding its clean energy portfolio, strengthening transmission infrastructure and improving distribution operations in Odisha, Delhi and Mumbai.
