Bhopal, May 20 (IANS) The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on Wednesday announced the much-awaited transfer policy for the current year, and also hailed the High Court’s decision on Bhojshala.

Continuing the approach from the previous year, all transfers will be carried out between June 1 and June 15. The window has been kept shorter this time for smoother implementation. Departments wishing to frame their own transfer policies can do so through the General Administration Department (GAD) with the Chief Minister’s recommendation.

All “A plus notesheet” (of the chief minister) category transfers have been directed to be completed by May 31, MSME Minister Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap said on Wednesday.

The previous policy remains applicable. Under the new guidelines, departments with up to 200 employees or officers can transfer up to 20 per cent of staff. Departments with 200 to 1,000 staff may transfer around 15 per cent, while those with 1,000 to 2,000 can transfer 10 per cent after additional calculations. Larger departments with over 2,000 employees will be allowed 5 per cent transfers.

Cases involving serious illnesses such as cancer and kidney disease on medical board recommendation, spouse postings, and self-illness cases have been kept outside the policy’s purview.

All other transfers will be covered under these norms. The school education department will have its own policy. All the transfer applications will be entertained online. However, where online facilities are not available, the offline applications will be entertained, the minister said.

The cabinet also took decisions aimed at administrative efficiency, investment promotion, and development in Naxal-affected areas.

Also, the Cabinet approved continuity of schemes worth nearly Rs 3,000 crore, including the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme, pensions for senior citizens, women, and divyang persons, women and child welfare programmes, Lok Seva Guarantee Act, and Labour Welfare Act.

Revised estimates for the Bandol and Nemawar group water supply schemes in Seoni and Dewas were also cleared.

The meeting also highlighted the state’s achievements in counter-Naxalism and cultural heritage restoration.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for receiving Sweden’s Royal Order of the Polar Star Commander Grand Cross and Norway’s Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit. He said the Prime Minister is taking India’s name to the highest position both within the country and across the world, reflecting India’s growing strength and global importance.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also highlighted the successful Indo-France conclave held recently at Kushabhau Thakre Hall. French Ambassador Thierry Mathieu actively participated in the day-long event, which saw participation from over 150 representatives, including industrialists, traders, and experts from logistics and green energy sectors. Prominent institutions have shown keen interest in investing in Madhya Pradesh, he said.

In a major administrative reform, the government completed long-pending appointments of chairpersons and members in various corporations and boards. To ensure immediate momentum, a one-day training programme was organised at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Good Governance Institute. Drawing from his own experience in 2003 at Ujjain Development Authority, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of training for new office-bearers in both administrative and political aspects.

CM Yadav recently attended a meeting in Jagdalpur where Union Home Minister Amit Shah felicitated Madhya Pradesh police officers and personnel for making the state Naxal-free. The state achieved this target in December 2025, well ahead of the March 2026 deadline set by the Centre.

The Chief Minister stressed that while Naxalism has been eradicated, the affected population, particularly an entire generation, suffered greatly over 30-35 years.

He announced special plans to fast-track development in these areas, focusing on agriculture, irrigation, roads, and other infrastructure to bring them into the mainstream.

The Cabinet also welcomed the recent High Court decision recognising Bhojshala as the ancient temple of Vagdevi (Goddess Saraswati) in Dhar. This 750-year-old site is being restored to its original form, marking a significant step in reclaiming India’s glorious history.

Earlier, the Cabinet meeting began with the singing of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’.
