India remains strong despite global economic turbulence: PM Modi

Daman, June 5 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said India’s ability to withstand global economic and geopolitical challenges was the result of the collective efforts of 140 crore citizens.

Addressing the public gathering in Daman after launching developmental projects, PM Modi noted that many countries continued to face uncertainty amid ongoing international crises.

“We all know that the world is facing crises. Economies across the globe are struggling under uncertainty,” he said.

The Prime Minister said global challenges had affected growth prospects and created instability in many regions, but argued that India had demonstrated resilience despite these conditions.

“Even during these difficult times, the collective efforts of 140 crore Indians are not only helping India remain resilient but are also enabling it to stay ahead,” he said.

PM Modi linked the country’s economic performance to public participation, describing citizens as partners in national development.

He said India’s growth, infrastructure expansion, and social welfare programmes had strengthened the country’s ability to navigate international uncertainty.

The Prime Minister described the achievement as evidence of the country’s growing confidence and capacity. “I congratulate all countrymen on this new economic milestone,” he said.

PM Modi added that India would continue pursuing reforms while adapting to evolving global circumstances.

“I assure the nation once again that India will continue to move forward rapidly on the path of Reform, Perform and Transform while successfully confronting global challenges,” he said.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came shortly after he highlighted economic data showing India’s growth rate at 7.7 per cent for the financial year 2025-26.

He argued that the country’s resilience was rooted in both policy decisions and public participation, saying national progress depended on the efforts of citizens across sectors and regions.

According to PM Modi, India’s experience demonstrated that sustained development was possible even during periods of international uncertainty, provided governments and citizens worked together towards common goals.
