Greater Noida, June 6 (IANS) In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida, a 21-year-old youth allegedly stabbed his mother and later jumped to death from his fifth floor residence, police said on Saturday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) (Central Noida), Swatantra Kumar Singh said on Friday that Bisrakh police were informed that a resident of Radha Sky Gardens Society has jumped from his flat.

“Upon reaching the site, the police found that the victim, identified as Sagar Yadav, was mentally unwell. He had got into an argument with his mother which got escalated, post which he picked up a knife and attacked her,” he said.

ADCP Singh said that the mother was inflicted with minor injuries and is now absolutely stable.

According to the senior police officer, the youth jumped from his fifth floor flat as he was disturbed following the incident.

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

“We have taken his body into custody and post-mortem procedure is being conducted,” Singh said.

A similar case of an argument between a parent and a child turning ugly, was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Barwani district.

According to the police, a heated argument erupted between Chandan and his 58-year-old father, Jagan Badole, over money. Chandan had been persistently demanding more than Rs 2 lakh from his father, police had told IANS earlier. His father had already given him Rs 2 lakh earlier by mortgaging a piece of land. On that fateful afternoon, as Jagan was returning home with his wife, Gauri Bai, an Anganwadi worker, Chandan intercepted them on the road. A verbal altercation quickly escalated into a physical scuffle.

In a fit of rage, Chandan allegedly took out the weapon, probably a country-made pistol, and shot his father at point-blank range in the head, killing him instantly.

Thirty two-year-old Chandan Badole, who was on the run for 35 days after allegedly committing the crime, was later arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Police from the dense forests along the banks of the Narmada River.
