World Cup magic in Kerala: Every goal brings a discount

Thiruvananthapuram, June 10 (IANS) The FIFA World Cup excitement is set to enter Kerala households in a new way, with Supplyco launching its special promotional scheme ‘Supplyco Soccer Eleven’ for football fans and consumers.

The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) is the state government’s public distribution and retail intervention agency, established to ensure the availability of essential commodities at affordable prices to the people of Kerala.

Starting June 15, the scheme will link 11 top World Cup teams with 11 popular Sabari products, offering discounts based on the performance of the teams in the tournament. Under the scheme, the number of goals scored by a team in each match will decide the discount percentage on the Sabari product linked to that team.

For example, if Brazil scores three goals in a match, Sabari turmeric powder linked with Brazil will get a 3 per cent discount until Brazil’s next match begins. Goals scored in penalty shootouts will not be considered.

The discount will be revised after every match based on the team’s latest goal tally and will remain valid only until the start of that team’s next game. If a team is eliminated from the World Cup, the offer linked to that team will also end.

The 11 teams featured in the Supplyco Soccer Eleven campaign are Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Portugal, Croatia and Morocco.

The Sabari products linked to the teams are: • Netherlands – Sabari Sambar Powder • Spain – Sabari Puttu Powder • Argentina – Sabari Payasam Mix • Belgium – Sabari Super Fine Dust Tea • Portugal – Sabari Chilli Powder • Croatia – Sabari Coconut Oil • England – Sabari Salt • Morocco – Sabari Hotel Blend Tea • France – Sabari Gold Tea

The scheme has an additional World Cup twist. If any one of these 11 teams wins the tournament, the Sabari product associated with the champion team will be offered at an extra special discount.

Supplyco officials said the initiative aims to connect the global football festival with everyday shopping and create an exciting experience for both football lovers and consumers.

The World Cup-linked discount will come in addition to the existing offers available at Supplyco outlets, making grocery shopping part of the football celebration.
