Yashbardhan Chauhan to lead India U19 squads for Sri Lanka tour

New Delhi, June 11 (IANS) Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan will be leading India men’s U-19 team for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, which comprises three One-Day matches and two Multi-Day fixtures, scheduled to begin next month.

Lakshya Raichandani will serve as Chauhan’s deputy as the BCCI named squads for both one-day and multi-day fixtures.

The white-ball leg of the tour kicks off on July 4 in Hambantota, which will host all three one-day matches. Following the limited-overs series, the team will transition to red-ball cricket for two multi-day matches. The first multi-day game is slated to be played in Galle from July 13 to 16, while the final fixture of the tour will take place in Colombo from July 20 to 23.

Rajat Baghel and Anvay Dravid have been handed the gloves for the One-Day squad, whereas Manav Krishna and Aryan Sandesh Sakpal will take over wicketkeeping duties for the multi-day games.

Earlier, the Women’s Selection Committee picked the Women’s U19 squads for the Sri Lanka Women’s U19 Tour of India, which will comprise three T20 matches and three One-Day matches, fromJune 20 to July 6. The three T20s will be played in Chennai while Puducherry will host One-day games.

Schedule:

1st One-Day: July 4 in Hambantota

2nd One-Day July 6 in Hambantota

3rd One-Day July 9 in Hambantota

1st Multi-Day: July 13-16 in Galle

2nd 1st Multi-Day: July 23-26 in Colombo
