Patna, June 12 (IANS) A tragic road accident claimed the lives of four people, including three Station House Officers (SHOs) from Bihar Police, early Friday morning in the Sahebpur Kamal police station area of Bihar’s Begusarai district.

The incident has triggered a wave of grief and shock across the police department, particularly in Madhepura district, where the officers were posted.

According to preliminary reports, the deceased police officers have been identified as Sajan Kumar, SHO of Ratwara police station under Udakishunganj subdivision; Amarendra Gyanendra, SHO of Arar police station; and Neeraj Kumar, SHO of Belari police station under Madhepura subdivision.

The officers were returning to Madhepura after attending an official training programme in Patna when the accident occurred.

Their vehicle is said to have collided with a truck parked on the roadside in the Sahebpur Kamal police station area.

The impact of the collision was extremely severe, leaving the occupants with little chance to escape.

Preliminary information suggests that the driver of the vehicle also died in the accident.

Police officials stated that the exact circumstances leading to the accident are still being investigated, and a detailed official report is awaited.

Following the incident, police and administrative officials rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation.

Senior officers from Madhepura district have also proceeded to Begusarai to monitor the situation and coordinate further action.

The news of the deaths sent shockwaves through the Bihar Police fraternity.

Colleagues and fellow officers expressed profound grief over the untimely demise of the three SHOs, describing them as dedicated officers committed to their service responsibilities.

The administration is currently gathering details related to the accident, including the condition and positioning of the parked truck, road visibility, and other possible factors that may have contributed to the crash.

Further official information regarding the cause of the accident and subsequent administrative action is expected after the completion of the investigation.
