Kolkata, June 13 (IANS) Trinamool Congress MLA Kunal Ghosh on Saturday targeted party MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay after he joined the rebel camp of Trinamool Lok Sabha MPs.

Speaking to media persons, Kunal Ghosh said Sudip Bandyopadhyay’s departure from the party meant “buy one get one free”. He said Bandyopadhyay was “a man sporting a wig” and would “have a mobile beauty parlour at his expense”, adding that he had changed parties several times and was unhappy with the current situation.

The Trinamool MLA further said this was what Mamata Banerjee deserved, as she had kept such people in the party after blindly trusting them. He said their leader, Tapas Roy, had to leave because of Bandyopadhyay, describing Roy as a capable leader. He added that the party had lost many deserving leaders because of Bandyopadhyay and accused him of betraying the party.

Bringing up an old issue, Ghosh said Tapas Roy was a good person and that he had been suspended from the party for saying so. He said that two days ago, he had called Sudip Bandyopadhyay and asked where he was when the CID had gone to Mamata Banerjee’s house. He said he was told that Nayna Bandyopadhyay, Sudip’s wife and a Trinamool MLA, was going there. However, Nayna did not reach Mamata Banerjee’s residence, while Sudip Bandyopadhyay reached Bhupendra Yadav’s house.

Incidentally, the rebel Trinamool MPs led by Kakali Ghosh Dastidar have already held a meeting at the house of Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari was present there. On Saturday, Sudip Bandyopadhyay joined the rebel camp.

The Kolkata Uttar MP of Trinamool Congress was seen in a car with rebel MP Satabdi Roy in Delhi on Saturday. He left for the BJP leader and Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav’s house with Satabdi in the same car from Delhi airport.

From the airport, the two reached Bhupendra Yadav’s house and held a meeting there. In the last few days, several rounds of meetings have been held by the rebel MPs of Trinamool at the house of the Union Minister. This rebel camp of Trinamool is led by Kakali Ghosh Dastidar and Satabdi Roy. In this situation, it is significant that Sudip Bandyopadhyay has also joined the rebel camp.
