Guwahati, June 18 (IANS) Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles Pabitra Margherita on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 12 years in office is a reflection of the immense trust and confidence reposed by the people of India in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)‑led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Speaking to reporters here, Margherita said PM Modi has set a record as one of the longest‑serving democratically elected Prime Ministers of the country, and that citizens across India have widely acknowledged the milestone.

“The completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi government is a historic achievement. It reflects the faith that the people of India have placed in Prime Minister Modi, the BJP and the NDA. We are grateful to the people for continuously supporting our vision of development and good governance,” he said.

The Union Minister stated that the Modi government has consistently worked to fulfil the aspirations of the people and has taken several transformative steps across sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, technology, welfare and social empowerment.

He said the government has remained committed to addressing citizens’ concerns and expectations while ensuring inclusive growth and development.

According to Margherita, the Centre’s policies have helped improve the lives of farmers, labourers, youth, women and other sections of society.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, he said India has witnessed significant progress in digital connectivity, economic development and public service delivery during the last 12 years.

He added that the people’s continued support has encouraged the government to pursue reforms and welfare initiatives with greater determination.

Margherita also expressed gratitude to PM Modi for providing strong leadership and guiding the country through various challenges while maintaining a focus on development and national progress.

“The people of the country have repeatedly expressed their confidence in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. We remain committed to working for the welfare of every citizen and fulfilling the aspirations of the nation,” he said.

The Union Minister was speaking on the occasion of the Modi government completing 12 years in office at the Centre.
