New Delhi, June 20 (IANS) A fire broke out at an electrical warehouse located in Gali No. 7 of Bihari Colony in Delhi’s Shahdara district on Saturday, prompting a swift response from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS).

Six fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot after authorities received information about the blaze.

Firefighters reached the site and launched firefighting operations to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures. According to officials, the warehouse was used to store electrical items and was locked when fire personnel arrived.

Providing details of the incident, DFS officer Anoop Singh said, “When we reached the spot, we found that the gate was locked. This is a warehouse storing electrical items…There were no casualties reported…”

The fire was brought under control after sustained efforts by the firefighting teams. Officials said no injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway.

The incident comes a day after two separate fire accidents were reported in different parts of the national Capital on Friday. One of the fires broke out at a savoury manufacturing factory near Dwarka Metro Station, while another engulfed a wooden furniture shop in Mangolpuri in the early hours of the morning.

According to the Delhi Fire Services, the fire at the savoury factory occurred in a tin-shed structure spread over approximately 300 square yards. Fire tenders were rushed to the site after a call was received at around 3:30 A.M. The blaze was brought under control without any casualties, and firefighting units later returned from the location.

In the second incident, a major fire broke out at a furniture shop in S Block, Mangolpuri, causing extensive damage to the establishment. Firefighters managed to contain the flames after several hours of operations.

A local resident said the fire appeared to have started suddenly during the night. “This was a furniture shop, and we do not know exactly what happened or how the fire started. We are not aware of the reason behind it. This incident happened at night around 2 A.M.,” he said.

While all three blazes were brought under control without any reported casualties, the fires have once again highlighted the importance of fire safety measures in commercial establishments and storage facilities across the national Capital.
