Rajasthan Chief Secretary meets CEC Gyanesh Kumar in Jaipur

Jaipur, June 20 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Saturday paid a courtesy call on Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar during his visit to Jaipur.

The Government of Rajasthan extended a warm welcome to the Chief Election Commissioner, reaffirming the state’s commitment to supporting the democratic and electoral processes of the country.

The meeting brought together two distinguished senior civil servants whose careers have been marked by significant contributions to governance, public administration, and institutional strengthening at both the state and national levels.

In a post on X, the Chief Secretary wrote, “Courtesy call on Chief Election Commissioner of India Shri Gyanesh Kumar ji on his visit to Jaipur today, the Government of Rajasthan extends a warm and hearty welcome.”

Chief Secretary Srinivas also shared pictures of his meeting with Gyanesh Kumar.

CEC Gyanesh Kumar is on a two-day visit to Rajasthan. On Saturday, Gyanesh Kumar interacted with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Rajasthan in Jaipur. Election Commission officials said, “Gyanesh Kumar, Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India, interacted with approximately 700 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors from the state during a special interactive session on Saturday at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura, Jaipur.”

On this occasion, the Election Commissioner discussed various aspects of the electoral process and deliberated on the experiences, suggestions, and ground-level challenges faced by the BLOs and supervisors.

The interaction between the Chief Election Commissioner and the Chief Secretary reflected the spirit of cooperation between constitutional institutions and state administrations. Their meeting underscored the shared commitment to strengthening democratic processes, ensuring effective governance, and upholding the highest standards of public service.

The Government of Rajasthan has reiterated its support for the Election Commission of India in ensuring the smooth conduct of electoral processes and reinforcing public trust in democratic institutions.
