New Delhi, June 21 (IANS) With preparations in place for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination in centres across the country and even worldwide on Sunday, BJP leaders asserted that the Central government has taken “great precautions” in order to ensure a smooth and transparent retest.

Speaking to IANS, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said: “The Union Education Ministry is conducting this exam with meticulous preparations, both in Delhi and across the country. The government is keeping a close watch on social media and is conducting the exam with great precaution nationwide. We extend our best wishes for a bright future to all students.”

“We have prepared cooling zones at all centres in Delhi, around 100 of them, where parents and also students, who arrive early at exam centres, can rest and calm their minds before the test,” he added.

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, who had taken part in Yoga Day celebrations at the Parliament House premises, also assured that all steps have been taken for the examination. “It will be successfully conducted. My best wishes to all the students,” he told reporters.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak echoed: “The NEET examination is being conducted smoothly and successfully. It is our government’s commitment to protect the interests of our youth and students at all costs. All officers are fulfilling their duty with utmost caution.”

Meanwhile, police personnel were engaged in last-minute traffic arrangements and security measures in Bihar.

Patna Traffic Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anil Kumar said: “We have diverted the commercial vehicles because a large number of candidates and their guardians arrive at this exam centre, which used to create congestion. To ease that, we have made these arrangements so that there is no pressure on the routes.”

In Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kantesh Mishra said: “Regarding the NEET examination, force deployment has been carried out today through all concerned units. Our personnel have also been deployed at railway stations. Police personnel will remain present at all examination centres, and we will make every effort to ensure that the examination is conducted peacefully and smoothly”

Extending her best wishes to students, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said: “I hope all students remain mentally fit and perform well in the exam.”
