New Delhi, July 1 (IANS) India’s passenger vehicle market ended June 2026 on a positive note, with major automakers reporting healthy sales, led by strong demand and sustained export momentum.

While Maruti Suzuki India crossed the 2 lakh-unit sales mark, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) posted a 7 pc year-on-year increase in monthly sales.

Hyundai Motor India reported over 51,000 units in total sales despite a temporary production disruption caused by a fire at a supplier’s facility.

Maruti Suzuki India sold a total of 200,390 units in June 2026, comprising 150,150 units in the domestic market, 7,472 units supplied to other OEMs, and 42,768 units exported, underscoring its continued leadership in the country’s passenger vehicle segment.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported total sales of 31,016 units in June, up 7 per cent from 28,869 units in the same month last year. The company’s sales included 28,441 domestic units and 2,575 exports.

Commenting on the performance, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the company was encouraged by the positive momentum driven by customer demand and its focus on customer-centricity. He added that the recently introduced New Innova Crysta, featuring updated styling and design elements, has received an encouraging market response for its appeal and value proposition.

Hyundai Motor India reported total monthly sales of 51,335 units in June 2026, including 39,635 units sold in the domestic market and 11,700 units exported.

Managing Director and CEO Tarun Garg said the company achieved the sales performance despite a production loss of 13,900 units following a fire incident at one of its supplier’s manufacturing facilities, which temporarily disrupted the supply of components. He said Hyundai arranged parts from alternate sourcing locations and restored normal production across its facilities from June 22, 2026. The company expects to recover the lost production volume during the second quarter of FY27.
