Jaipur, July 2 (IANS) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a municipal corporation Jamadar while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

The trap was laid at the Jaipur Municipal Corporation after the accused allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh to process a property lease deed (patta). The ACB is currently interrogating the accused.

According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, the operation was carried out on Thursday afternoon at the Jaipur Municipal Corporation.

The accused has been identified as Ramsingh Yadav (28), son of Moolchand Yadav and a resident of Shrimadhopur in Sikar district.

Yadav was posted as a Jamadar in the Lease Deed (Patta) Branch of the Hawa Mahal-Amer Zone of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation.

The complainant had approached the ACB, alleging that a lease deed (patta) in his father’s name had been pending with the corporation.

According to the complaint, the complainant had been making repeated visits to the municipal office for a considerable period to get the lease deed issued.

During this time, Yadav allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh in exchange for processing the file.

After verifying the complaint and confirming the alleged demand for a bribe, the ACB laid a trap.

On Thursday afternoon, the complainant was sent to the accused with Rs 50,000 as the first instalment of the alleged bribe.

As soon as Yadav accepted the money, the ACB team caught him red-handed and arrested him. The accused is being questioned, and further investigation is underway.
