Guwahati, July 3 (IANS) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that the state government is working to bring governance to the fingertips of citizens through the Seva Setu platform, which has emerged as one of the largest digital public service delivery initiatives in the state.

Highlighting the achievements of the platform in a post on social media, the Chief Minister said Assam is now offering more than 800 government services online, making public service delivery faster, transparent and more accessible.

“We are working to bring governance right at people’s fingertips. Through the Seva Setu, Assam offers over 800 Government services online with 1.5 crore-plus services already delivered by this platform in a major initiative towards improving ease of living for our citizens,” CM Sarma said.

According to the information shared by the Chief Minister, Seva Setu has integrated 47 government departments and three Autonomous Sixth Schedule Councils under a single digital platform, enabling citizens to access a wide range of services without visiting government offices.

The platform has so far processed over 1.5 crore applications while maintaining a service disposal rate of more than 90 per cent, reflecting improved efficiency in delivering public services across the state.

The Chief Minister also noted that over 94,000 public grievances have been resolved through the portal, with an overall grievance resolution rate of 86 per cent.

As part of the state’s digital governance push, Seva Setu has been fully integrated with DigiLocker, allowing users to securely access and store official documents online.

The platform is also available through the UMANG mobile application, enabling citizens to avail government services using their smartphones.

The Chief Minister said the initiative is aligned with the vision of Digital India and aims to enhance ease of living by making government services more transparent, efficient and citizen-centric.

The post was shared as part of the celebrations marking 11 years of the Digital India programme, showcasing Assam’s efforts to strengthen digital governance and improve service delivery through technology.
