EV subsidy portal a milestone towards green mobility: Delhi Minister

New Delhi, July 3 (IANS) Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said on Friday that the launch of the EV Subsidy portal and unveiling of the Delhi EV Policy Booklet by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marks a transformative milestone in the city’s journey towards clean, sustainable and future-ready mobility.

“We are not only introducing a digital platform but also reinforcing our commitment to transparent governance, timely service delivery and citizen-centric reforms,” he said at the portal launch event.

The EV Subsidy Portal is designed to ensure that the benefits of the Delhi EV Policy reach eligible citizens in a transparent, accountable and time-bound manner, he said.

Eligible applicants can submit their purchase incentive applications online within 30 days from the date of generation of the Registration Certificate (RC) of their electric vehicle, he said.

Following due verification of the application and supporting documents, eligible beneficiaries will receive the approved subsidy directly into their verified bank accounts through the Aadhaar-Based Payment System (ABPS) within 60 days of submitting a complete application, said the Minister.

“If any clarification or additional document is required, the applicant will be informed digitally through the portal and provided adequate time to rectify the deficiency, making the entire process seamless, paperless and citizen-friendly,” he said.

The Minister urged the people of Delhi to adopt electric vehicles with confidence. “The Delhi government is rapidly expanding the EV charging infrastructure across the city,” he said.

“I also call upon industry leaders, vehicle manufacturers, charging infrastructure providers and all stakeholders to translate their investment commitments into action without waiting for the policy’s full operational rollout,” he said.

The Delhi government is moving swiftly to strengthen the supporting infrastructure, and we expect our partners to move with the same sense. Together, we must build a robust EV ecosystem that establishes Delhi as the national benchmark for clean mobility, he said.

“Our goal is not merely to increase the number of electric vehicles on Delhi’s roads, but to build a comprehensive ecosystem that provides citizens with timely subsidies, world-class charging infrastructure, efficient public services and a cleaner environment,” said Pankaj Kumar Singh.
