Amaravati, July 6 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Monday paid tributes to Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his birth anniversary.

The Jana Sena leader called Mookerjee “one of India’s foremost nation builders, an eminent educationist, visionary statesman, and a fearless patriot whose life was dedicated to safeguarding the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of our nation.”

The actor-politician posted on social media that as the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Mookerjee laid the foundation for a political movement rooted in nationalism, democratic values, and public service.

“His unwavering conviction that ‘One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag’ became a defining symbol of national unity and constitutional integrity. A distinguished scholar and one of the youngest Vice-Chancellors of the University of Calcutta, he believed that education was the cornerstone of nation-building.

“His remarkable contributions to public life, governance, and national discourse continue to inspire generations to uphold the ideals of courage, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to the nation. On this solemn occasion, let us reaffirm our resolve to build a strong, united, and developed Bharat by drawing inspiration from his extraordinary vision, sacrifice, and enduring legacy,” reads his post on ‘X’.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu paid his tributes to former Deputy Prime Minister, late Babu Jagjivan Ram on his death anniversary.

The Chief Minister called him a great soul who dedicated his entire life to the pursuit of social justice, the empowerment of the poor and weaker sections, and the building of an equitable society with equal opportunities.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president said that Babu Jagjivan Ram was a visionary leader who laid a strong foundation for the Green Revolution in the country’s agricultural sector and played a pivotal role in achieving food security.

HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh also paid tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram. “As a Union Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the country, he worked tirelessly until his last breath to protect Dalit rights. The life of Jagjivan Ram, who earned a name as one of the architects of modern India, remains an inspiration for today’s generation. Let us commit to realizing his aspirations,” Lokesh posted on ‘X’.
