Patna, July 6 (IANS) JD(U) National President and former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made an unannounced visit to the party’s state headquarters in Patna on Monday, reviewing the functioning of the office, interacting with party leaders, and inspecting newly-developed facilities within the campus.

Nitish Kumar reached the JD(U) office at around 11:00 a.m. and began his visit by inspecting the party’s ongoing Jan Sunwai (public grievance hearing) programme, where people had gathered to present their grievances.

His arrival prompted party workers and supporters to raise slogans in his support.

During the visit, Rural Development and Information & Public Relations Minister Shravan Kumar was hearing complaints from members of the public.

Nitish Kumar briefly interacted with those present and instructed the minister to continue listening to people’s grievances carefully before proceeding with the rest of his inspection.

Accompanied by JD(U) State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha, Nitish Kumar inspected various sections of the party headquarters, including newly constructed facilities within the office complex.

While reviewing the rear section of the campus, he suggested that organizational meetings should also be held in the open area.

“I have said before that meetings should also be held in open spaces,” he remarked during the inspection.

Following the inspection, Nitish Kumar spent some time in his chamber at the JD(U) state office, where he held discussions with State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha on organisational matters and issued several directions related to the functioning of the party.

The ‘Jan Sunwai’ is not only a platform for addressing people’s grievances but also a key initiative to strengthen the party’s outreach and deepen its engagement with the common people.

Through the program, party leaders interact directly with citizens, listen to their concerns, and seek to expand the party’s grassroots connections while facilitating the resolution of public issues.

The surprise visit comes at a time when the JD(U) has intensified its organisational activities ahead of the upcoming political contests in Bihar, with Nitish Kumar remaining actively engaged in both administrative and party affairs.
