Jaipur, July 9 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Thursday reviewed the progress of major schemes and projects of the Energy Department and the state’s three electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs).

During a meeting with senior officials, he directed them to ensure the timely and effective implementation of all schemes and expedite pending works.

A detailed review was conducted of the Pradhan Mantri KUSUM (PM-KUSUM) Scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model, and other key initiatives.

Rajasthan continues to rank among the leading states in the country in the effective implementation of the PM-KUSUM Scheme. The Chief Secretary instructed officials to complete all projects sanctioned under the scheme within the stipulated timelines.

Reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, he directed officials to ensure prompt inspection of applications and the timely release of electricity connections to eligible beneficiaries.

While reviewing the ULA model, Srinivas emphasised strict adherence to timelines to accelerate rooftop solar installations across the state.

The meeting also reviewed the state’s action plan to provide daytime electricity supply to farmers by March 2027. At present, farmers in 26 districts are receiving daytime electricity, while work is progressing at a rapid pace in the remaining districts to achieve the target within the stipulated timeframe.

Rajasthan Government Resident Commissioner Rohit Kumar joined the meeting via video conference from New Delhi.

Energy Secretary and Chairperson of the DISCOMs Aarti Dogra, Jaipur DISCOM Director (Technical) R.K. Sharma, Jodhpur DISCOM Managing Director Bhanwar Lal, Jodhpur DISCOM Director (Technical) V.K. Chhangani, Ajmer DISCOM Director (Technical), and other senior officials of the Energy Department and the three DISCOMs were also present.
