Hyderabad, July 10 (IANS) A car crashed into the residence of Tollywood actor Dharma in Film Nagar in posh Jubilee Hills area here in the early hours of Friday. No one was injured in the incident, police said.

The vehicle, allegedly driven by intoxicated youths crashed into Dharma’s house past midnight after the driver lost control apparently due to over speeding.

According to police, the car crashed into the gate and entered the premises before coming to a halt.

A portion of the boundary wall came crashing under the impact of the collision. The vehicle was extensively damaged in the incident.

On hearing the loud thud, the actor and his family members woke up. They lodged a complaint with the police.

Police rushed to the spot and detained the youth, who was driving the vehicle, allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Jubilee Hills police registered a case and took up investigation.

Meanwhile, in a bizarre incident, a drunk man stole a bus belonging to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC).

According to police, a man stole a hired bus of TGSRC from Jangaon bus stand and took it away.

Venkanna, a resident of Palakurthi, drove the empty bus for about 21 km towards Suryapet. The bus came to an abrupt halt after hitting a cement block near the Singarajupally toll gate.

The police have arrested the accused, who was under the influence of alcohol.

According to police, Venkanna, a tractor driver, wanted to travel to Tirupati. He first visited a nearby railway station twice, but after learning that no trains were available at that time, he went to Jangaon bus stand, where he noticed an RTC-hired bus parked on the premises.

He entered the bus and managed to start it using the vehicle’s toolkit. He then drove the bus along the Suryapet route for about 21 kilometres.

The theft came to light after the bus met with an accident near the Singarajupalli toll plaza. Venkanna reportedly hit the divider while attempting to reverse the bus. Toll plaza staff became suspicious when he repeatedly rammed the divider and was unable to reverse the vehicle properly. They informed the police, who detained Venkanna.
