Rajasthan HC receives fresh bomb threat email; security tightened in Jaipur, Jodhpur

Jaipur, July 13 (IANS) Panic gripped the judicial and security establishments on Monday after the Rajasthan High Court benches in Jaipur and Jodhpur received fresh bomb threats via email. The threatening message was reportedly sent from an unidentified email address, prompting an immediate security response.

Police, cyber experts, and other investigating agencies have launched a probe to verify the authenticity of the email and trace its origin.

Officials have not yet confirmed whether the threat is genuine. Following the alert, security was significantly tightened across both High Court premises. Entry points were placed under strict surveillance, with all visitors and vehicles undergoing thorough screening. Bomb Disposal Squads and Dog Squads were deployed to conduct comprehensive searches of the court complexes to rule out any potential threat. Security personnel remain on high alert as precautionary measures continue.

The Rajasthan High Court has received similar bomb threats through email on several occasions in the past. Although previous searches did not uncover any explosive devices, each incident has triggered extensive security operations, disrupted court proceedings, and caused inconvenience to litigants and advocates. The recurring threats have also placed additional pressure on law enforcement and security agencies.

The latest threat comes shortly after a similar email was reportedly received by the Jodhpur Regional Transport Office (RTO). In recent months, several government institutions and public offices have been targeted with anonymous threat emails, increasing concerns over cyber-enabled hoaxes and security risks.

Cyber experts are working to identify the source of the email and trace the sender. So far, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not identified any suspects.

Police have appealed to the public not to spread or believe rumours and to rely only on official updates.

The cyber investigation remains underway, while security agencies continue to closely monitor the situation at both High Court benches.

Authorities have assured that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of judges, court staff, lawyers, and visitors while the investigation continues.
