Jaipur, July 14 (IANS) Reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has approved strict action against two Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officers and one Rajasthan Prison Service officer for irregularities and negligence in the discharge of their official duties.

Chief Minister Sharma has approved the immediate suspension of Saroj Bishnoi, Deputy Superintendent posted at the Women’s Correctional Home, Jaipur, and ordered her transfer from Jaipur headquarters to Bharatpur.

Complaints against the officer alleged that she kept a female inmate with her and allowed the inmate to interfere in official work. She was also accused of providing unauthorised facilities to inmates in exchange for money.

The Chief Minister has also approved the initiation of disciplinary proceedings under Rule 16 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958, against Derawar Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime), Jodhpur Police Commissionerate. While serving as the Station House Officer at Kaman Police Station in Deeg district, he was found negligent in the discharge of his duties.

During the investigation of a murder case, he allegedly attempted to shield seven of the eight accused by holding only one accused responsible.

In another case, the Chief Minister has approved the departmental enquiry report against Labhuram Bishnoi, an RPS officer, accepting the charges against him as proved.

The enquiry found that he failed to act in accordance with instructions regarding action against illegal sand mining and transportation by the sand mafia in the Banas River area under the jurisdiction of Chauth ka Barwara Police Station in Sawai Madhopur district.

His negligence resulted in a law-and-order situation, endangered the lives of police personnel, including his own, and reflected a lack of coordination with various departments concerned during the operation.

These decisions reflect the State Government’s commitment to ensuring accountability in public administration and promoting transparency, discipline, and efficiency in the functioning of the government.
