Rajasthan govt transfers 18 IPS officers in late night reshuffle

Jaipur, July 15 (IANS) In a major revamp of the police administration, the Rajasthan government transferred 18 IPS officers late Tuesday night.

Along with two officers of Director General (DG) rank, the Jodhpur Police Commissioner and the Inspectors General (IGs) of the Ajmer and Bharatpur ranges have been replaced.

Four districts will now have new Superintendents of Police (SPs). The Balotra SP, who came into the spotlight during a refinery accident, has also been transferred; he has been removed from his field posting. Meanwhile, the Jodhpur Commissioner has been replaced in less than five months.

Anil Paliwal has been moved from DG (Training and Traffic) to the post of DG and Commandant General, Home Guards (Jaipur).

Senior IPS officer Malini Agarwal has been appointed as DG (Police Traffic), moving from her previous role as DG and Commandant General, Home Guards. Additionally, Pradeep Mohan Sharma has been transferred from the Intelligence Training Academy (Jaipur) to the post of Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic and Administration) at the Jaipur Police Commissionerate.

Ajay Singh Rathore has been moved from ASP (Kishangarh Circle) to Commandant, 7th Battalion RAC (Bharatpur).

Anushtha Kalia has been transferred from ASP (Bikaner Sadar) and DCP (Headquarters) to the Jaipur Police Commissionerate.

The transfer list also includes changes for the Inspectors General (IGs) of two major ranges. Ajmer Range IG Rajendra Singh has been transferred to the post of IG (Vigilance), Jaipur. Bharatpur Range IG Kailash Chand Bishnoi has been transferred to the post of IG (Police Modernisation and Welfare), Jaipur.

Dr Ravi, currently IG (Police Modernisation and Welfare), will be the new IG of the Ajmer Range.

Dr Preeti Chandra has been posted as the Bharatpur Range IG, moving from her role as IG (Law and Order).

There has been another change at the Jodhpur Police Commissionerate. Sharat Kaviraj, who was appointed Jodhpur Police Commissioner on February 23, has been transferred after less than five months; he will now serve as IG (Crime Branch).

Senior IPS officer Anshuman Bhomia will be the new Commissioner; he is currently the IG (SSB).

The SP of Balotra, a district that gained prominence due to its refinery, has also been transferred.

SP Ramesh has been transferred to the post of SP (Human Rights and Weaker Sections), Jaipur.

Rajesh Kumar, currently DCP (Headquarters) at the Jaipur Police Commissionerate, will be the new SP of Balotra.

Jodhpur Rural Superintendent of Police P.D. Nitya will now serve as the ACB SP in Jodhpur.

Pankaj Yadav will replace Nitya as the SP of Jodhpur Rural; he is currently the Commandant of the 1st RAC Battalion, Jodhpur.

Pratapgarh SP B. Aditya has been appointed as the SP of Hanumangarh.

Hanumangarh SP Narendra Singh Meena has been transferred to the post of Commandant, 10th RAC Battalion, Bikaner.

Vishal Jangid has been appointed as the SP of Pratapgarh, moving from his role as Commandant of the 10th RAC Battalion, Bikaner.
