Bhopal, July 16 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday invited domestic and global textile companies to invest in the state, saying it offers investor-friendly policies, the country’s cheapest electricity and has cleared all pending subsidy dues to industries.

Addressing a roundtable meeting with leading textile investors, industry representatives and global brands during Bharat Tex 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh has emerged as an attractive destination for investments in the textile and garment sector.

He said the state government has fulfilled all its commitments to industrialists, adding that subsidies due to industries across sectors have been transferred through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, and all pending dues up to May 2026 have been cleared.

He invited investors to set up industries in Madhya Pradesh, where everything required for industrial growth is available.

Highlighting the state’s industrial strengths, the Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh currently offers the cheapest electricity, making it easier for industries to operate competitively.

He added that the state has also made significant progress in green energy, with adequate electricity generated through solar and pumped-storage projects.

Referring to the Centre’s flagship PM MITRA initiative, Yadav said the country’s first ‘PM MITRA Park’, coming up in Dhar district, would provide a major boost to the textile sector. The project is expected to generate around three lakh direct and indirect jobs while benefiting more than six lakh cotton growers in the Malwa-Nimar region.

He said the PM MITRA Park will create an integrated ecosystem from cotton farms to textile manufacturing, garment production and global markets, adding that Madhya Pradesh is fully prepared to partner with the Central government and global brands to strengthen India’s textile industry.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s rich textile tradition, saying the state’s association with the sector dates back centuries.

He referred to Maheshwari and Chanderi sarees as globally recognised brands and credited Queen Ahilyabai Holkar with promoting Maheshwari textiles while supporting the livelihoods of weavers.

Yadav said the textile and garment sector is contributing significantly to the state’s economy by generating employment and encouraging value addition.

He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying the country was witnessing rapid development across sectors and Bharat Tex had become an important platform for connecting Indian manufacturers with global investors and buyers.

On the sidelines of the event, the Chief Minister also held one-to-one meetings with investors and industry representatives to discuss investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh’s textile and apparel sector.
