Jaipur, Aug 20 (IANS) Rajasthan BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ajay Kumar on Thursday said the upcoming municipal elections are crucial for his party and called for close coordination between the state government and the party organisation to ensure a strong electoral performance.
He said party workers must communicate directly with people at the grassroots level and take the government’s development initiatives and achievements to every household.
Kumar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India had made unprecedented progress over the past 12 years across sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, technology and international relations.
He said the vision of a “Developed India” and a “Developed Rajasthan” by 2047 could be realised only if the state’s cities and towns also developed rapidly. He asserted that the BJP could ensure holistic development of urban areas, while alleging that Congress rule had been marked by maladministration, corruption and nepotism.
He said the BJP’s objective was not merely to win elections but to provide citizens with accountable, transparent and responsive municipal governance.
Kumar added that funds had been allocated to accelerate development in coordination with the state government, including Rs 10 crore for municipal corporations, Rs 3 crore for municipal councils and Rs 1 crore for municipalities. These allocations, he said, would speed up local development work and improve civic amenities.
Describing BJP workers as the party’s greatest strength, Kumar said the organisation was being further strengthened through greater participation of young people.
He urged workers to reach out to the public with full energy and communicate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India,” Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s vision of a “Developed Rajasthan,” and the BJP’s welfare‑oriented policies.
The meeting also emphasised the criteria for distributing election tickets. Party leaders said they would prefer workers who had been active in their areas for a long time, enjoyed public acceptance, maintained a clean image, and remained dedicated to the organisation. They said hard work, loyalty and sustained grassroots activity would be the primary considerations in ticket allocation.
Leaders and workers present at the meeting pledged to work for a strong and decisive BJP victory in the municipal elections. The party leadership expressed confidence that the government’s achievements would drive the BJP’s performance, the strength of the organisation and the hard work of its workers.
The leadership further said that adding BJP-led municipal bodies to the existing “double‑engine” government would create a “triple‑engine” model of governance and further accelerate Rajasthan’s development.
