Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Lok Bhawan in Srinagar to assess the overall security situation across J&K.
The high-level meeting focussed primarily on the prevailing security scenario, operational preparedness of the forces and strategies to strengthen Intelligence sharing.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha emphasised measures to strengthen coordination among various agencies including the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), Intelligence wings, and the civil administration.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is chairing periodic review meetings of various security force wings and Intelligence agencies in order to ensure peace and tranquility in J&K while laying stress on zero tolerance to terrorism.
The security forces are relentlessly pursuing the objective of complete dismantling of the support system of terrorism in the Union Territory. This approach includes operations against terrorists, their Over Ground Workers and sympathisers.
While these operations are carried out by J&K Police and the security forces, the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF) guarding the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border, are deployed to prevent infiltration by terrorists, smuggling and drone activities by terror handlers from across the border in J&K.
Terror handlers across the border use drones to drop payloads of arms, ammunition, cash and drugs to sustain terrorism in J&K. These consignments are usually picked up by OGWs and later handed over to the terrorists.
The Indian Army and the BSF are using hi-tech anti-drop technology in addition to human Intelligence to prevent the menace of drones.
