The Consul General of India in Brisbane, Neetu M. Bhagotia, attended the Bharatanatyam Arangetram presented by students of the Lalithakalalaya School of Bharatanatyam.
Founded in 2009 by renowned Bharatanatyam exponent Padmalakshmi Sriram, the school has played a significant role in nurturing Indian classical dance in Queensland. Over the years, it has become a respected cultural institution, guiding young dancers with discipline, artistry, and deep cultural grounding.
The Arangetram performance highlighted the students’ dedication and their mastery of the intricate techniques and expressive elements central to the Bharatanatyam tradition.
The Consul General commended the students, their guru, and the parents for their sustained efforts in keeping the classical arts thriving within the Indian community in Brisbane.
