FICQ’s Diwali 2025 at King George Square drew large crowds for a day-long festival of music, dance and cultural displays that celebrated the Indian community across Queensland. The federation posted event galleries and videos online for the community to enjoy and share.
The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland has been hosting Diwali events in Brisbane for many years, steadily expanding the scale and civic support for the festival. The annual celebration — held at King George Square in recent years — is listed on Brisbane’s official events calendar and is commonly supported by the Lord Mayor’s office and state multicultural programs.
FICQ’s ongoing Diwali program underscores its role as an umbrella organisation for more than 60 member associations across Queensland, and the 2025 edition continued the federation’s focus on cultural unity, volunteer engagement and public celebration of Indian heritage in the state.
