Lifeguards have closed seven Sunshine Coast beaches today, as strong swell continues to batter the coastline.
Buddina, Currimundi, Mudjimba, North Peregian, Rainbow, Sunrise, and Wurtulla Beaches have all been closed.
Surf Life Saving Queensland made the announcement, declaring the surf and strong currents too dangerous to raise the red and yellow flags and urging swimmers to stay out of the water.
A strong southerly swell producing waves up to 6ft has brought wild conditions that saw 11 Sunshine Coast beaches closed on Tuesday.
The swell is expected to gradually ease in the coming days.
