Consul General of India in Perth, Kajari Biswas attended the 2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony of the School of Malayalam Language Inc – Perth Community, highlighting the significance of community-driven initiatives in preserving language and cultural heritage.
During the ceremony, the Consul General addressed students, teachers, and members of the community, stressing the importance of education in nurturing linguistic identity among younger generations. She congratulated the school on achieving key milestones, including the introduction of its first Year 9 class and the launch of free kindergarten and pre-primary programmes aimed at expanding access to learning.
Biswas also acknowledged the establishment of a new library comprising around 400 books, describing it as a meaningful step towards strengthening educational resources for students. Appreciating the dedication of the school’s organisers and supporters, she noted that the Consulate looks forward to extending its support to the institution’s future initiatives and growth.
