New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) Highlighting efforts for livelihood promotion and inclusivity, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram will lead celebrations to mark the 25th Foundation Day of the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) on Friday, an official said.

The main event will be organised at Vishwa Yuva Kendra, New Delhi, where the Union Minister will felicitate successful Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs, the official said in a statement.

Established in 2001, NSTFDC serves as an apex organisation dedicated to the economic development of Scheduled Tribes across the country.

The Corporation has been instrumental in promoting livelihood opportunities by extending concessional financial assistance through State Channelising Agencies for income-generating activities, said the statement.

Apart from Oram, the event will also be attended by Durga Das Uikey, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, and Ranjana Chopra, Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, along with former CMDs, senior officials, and distinguished guests.

T. Roumuan Paite, CMD, NSTFDC, in his address, is likely to share the success stories of successful Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs from across India who have established sustainable enterprises with financial support under the Corporation’s schemes.

These beneficiaries represent diverse tribal communities and have ventured into various sectors such as traditional cuisine, healthcare services, poultry, dairy, handicrafts, fisheries, retail businesses, tailoring, and more, said the statement.

The event will also feature cultural programmes, including tribal dances and a street play, reflecting the rich heritage and traditions of tribal communities.

The Ministry’s officials in charge of celebrations said there is great enthusiasm among participants, and the officials are looking forward to welcoming dignitaries and other stakeholders in a grand manner to mark NSTFDC’s 25 years of dedicated service towards tribal empowerment and inclusive growth, especially aimed at the welfare of the marginalised communities.
