Representatives of the Australia India Institute participated in the ninth Indian Ocean Conference held in Mauritius, contributing to discussions on regional governance and cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region.
Grace Corcoran and Distinguished Fellow Anil Wadhwa were among participants engaging with global leaders and experts on the theme “Collective Stewardship for Indian Ocean Governance.”
The conference, which brings together policymakers, diplomats, and strategic experts annually, focused on strengthening partnerships and exploring collaborative approaches to regional challenges across the Indian Ocean Region.
Discussions highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts in areas such as maritime security, sustainable development, and regional stability, amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
The event was convened by the India Foundation in collaboration with the Government of Mauritius, providing a platform for dialogue on key regional issues.
Participants noted that such engagements underscore the growing role of academic and policy institutions in shaping strategic thinking and enhancing cooperation across the Indo-Pacific.
