A community forum hosted by Federal MP Angie Bell in Southport brought together residents, community representatives, and leaders from multiple levels of government, highlighting the importance of grassroots engagement in a multicultural society.
Held at the Southport Community Centre, the interactive session enabled attendees to engage directly with policymakers, receive updates on local and national issues, and participate in a Q&A discussion.
The forum featured the participation of State MP Rob Molhoek and Councillor Brooke Patterson, demonstrating collaboration across federal, state, and local government levels.
Speakers emphasised the value of open dialogue and community participation in shaping responsive governance. Members of the Indian diaspora and other multicultural communities were among those present, reflecting the diversity of the Gold Coast region and their growing role in civic life.
The event provided a platform for residents to raise concerns, exchange ideas, and better understand policy priorities, while leaders reiterated their commitment to ongoing engagement with local communities.
Organisers described the forum as a meaningful initiative that strengthens connections between elected representatives and the public, fostering inclusive decision-making and community cohesion.
