Consul General of India in Perth, Kajari Biswas, joined ANZAC Day commemorations on April 25, paying tribute to fallen soldiers and acknowledging the enduring legacy of shared sacrifice between India and Australia.
Marking ANZAC Day, the Consul General participated in ceremonies that honour the courage and service of members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, while also recognising the contribution of Indian soldiers who fought alongside ANZAC forces during World War I and subsequent conflicts.
In her remarks, Biswas highlighted the deep historical ties forged on the battlefield, noting that Indian troops played a significant role in campaigns such as Gallipoli and the Western Front. She emphasised that these shared experiences continue to shape the strong and evolving relationship between India and Australia.
The commemoration served as a moment of reflection on values such as courage, resilience, and camaraderie—principles that underpin both nations’ defence traditions.
