A motorbike rider is being flown to hospital in a critical condition after crashing in the Sunshine Coast hinterland on Saturday morning.
Police were called to the single-vehicle crash about 11.20am on Mooloolah Connection Road in Mooloolah Valley, 20 kilometres west of Caloundra.
The road was closed while the rescue helicopter evacuated the male rider, believed to be in his late forties or early fifties.
He was in a critical condition on his way to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, having suffered a head injury and broken leg.
Police expect further delays for traffic in the area as the Forensic Crash Unit investigates the incident.
