A special cultural programme celebrating the life and work of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray was organised in Perth by Batayan and Rangmanch Production, bringing together members of the Indian community and admirers of Indian cinema.

The event featured Sandip Ray sharing personal stories and reflections on the immense contribution of Satyajit Ray to Indian art, literature and filmmaking, offering audiences insights into the creative journey of one of India’s most celebrated cultural icons.

The Indian Society of WA (ISWA) congratulated the organisers for hosting the programme and providing the community with an opportunity to engage with India’s rich artistic heritage.

Organisers said the evening highlighted the enduring influence of Satyajit Ray on global cinema and served as a platform to celebrate Indian culture and storytelling in Western Australia.

Community members attended the programme in large numbers, reflecting continued interest in Indian arts and cultural initiatives in Perth.
