The Consulate General of India in Perth joined hands with the Haryanvi Association of Western Australia (HAWA) to support Multicultural Haryana Day Milan 2026, celebrating the traditions, cultural heritage and achievements of Haryana.
In a social media post, the Consulate said it was pleased to support and collaborate with HAWA in organising the event, which showcased Haryana’s vibrant cultural traditions through folk music, dance and other cultural performances.
Consul Naresh Kumar was present at the gathering and addressed the participants, as members of the Haryanvi community came together to celebrate their cultural roots and heritage.
The event provided an opportunity for the community to share Haryana’s rich traditions with the wider multicultural population of Western Australia while strengthening cultural connections among Indian Australians.
The Consulate’s participation reflected its support for community-led initiatives that promote India’s regional cultures and strengthen cultural engagement between India and Australia.
